The Road Goes Ever On is a song cycle and the title of a 1967 songbook featuring lyrics by J.R.R. Tolkien and music by Donald Swann. It takes its name from Tolkien's famous walking-song first introduced in The Hobbit and later adapted in The Lord of the Rings. First published 1967 in the USA by Houghton Mifflin, then by Allen and Unwin in 1968.
