James Joyce Ulysses
I bought my copy of James Joyce Ulysses, the 1958 Reprint of The Bodley Head edition at Willshaw's Bookshop in Manchester. It was a 'Getting out of the RAF' gift to myself. I still have the book. Much battered and time worn. Over the years I have read and reread, dipped in here and there, spent time with my favourite chapters. A work of wisdom, insight, and the human condition. It has taught me many things, particularly about the underlying complexity that constitutes, what is often dismissed as 'Everyman'.
